neighborhoodhouse.org Revenue $238.7 Million Neighborhood House is Portland's oldest nonprofit social services organization, founded in 1905 and serving over 3,000 people annually through food, education, health and housing programs. With 50 to 100 staff and hundreds of volunteers, it operates from a modern campus in the Marquam Hill and South Waterfront area of Southwest Portland. Its programs include a food pantry, Head Start early childhood education, ESL classes, mental health services, senior programs and emergency rental and utility assistance. The organization holds a 3-star Charity Navigator rating and is part of the National Community Action Partnership. In 2018 it completed a major campus expansion and in 2025 celebrated 120 years of continuous community service. It is funded through federal and state grants, foundation support including the Oregon Community Foundation and United Way, corporate sponsorships and individual donations.
